I have been in the dental industry since I Graduated Seattle Central hygiene school in 2019. I really enjoy being a Dental Hygienist because I get to meet new people and make a positive impact on their life in providing good oral health – which truly benefits their overall medical health. I live in Fremont with my boyfriend, Grant, and our dog, Bandit. I enjoy cooking, hiking, traveling, and checking out new wineries, amongst many other things. More importantly, I very much look forward to seeing you in our office and partnering with you for your dental care.

Born and raised in Seattle, WA, I’ve been working in the dental field since 2001. I began my career as a Dental Assistant and later became a Dental Hygienist. I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them achieve and maintain optimal oral health. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family and enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Shawn is Dr. Waind’s Registered Dental Assistant. She grew up and went to school in Ohio where she received her training in dental assisting. Shawn has been a Dental Assistant since 1994 and has been working with Sound Dentistry since 2006. Shawn says she really enjoys assisting Dr. Waind, who has a gentle and caring approach while providing the utmost dental care for our wonderful patients. When away from the office Shawn enjoys walking, hiking, and cooking.

After having my son, I sought a career change and discovered my passion for Dentistry. I find joy in being the first point of contact for patients and making their day better with a warm greeting. Despite the commute from Tacoma, I cherish the relationships with our patients and my work family. Outside of work, I revel in spending time with my boyfriend and my son, exploring new destinations, and exposing my child to diverse experiences. I also enjoy trying out different restaurants in the area! I look forward to greeting you in our office very soon!

While my career background started in Pharmaceuticals and Training for more than a couple of decades, I love being part of Dr. Waind’s amazing and talented colleagues in this office! When they let me out of the back office, I truly enjoy meeting and getting to know each and every one of our patients. Away from the fun we have serving our patients, I love snowboarding, hiking, wineries, traveling, and, notably, spending time with my family/friends. I’m a born and raised Washington State native, having attended the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!), and love to enjoy all that this wonderful area affords us!
